If you have a cesspit or septic tank, it will need to be emptied and maintained on a regular basis. Billy Bowie Tankers can provide a professional and efficient septic tank de-sludging service to all households with private septic tanks at a time that suits you.

The standard household charges apply to septic tanks that serve up to 5 houses that meet all the basic conditions referred to above. If more than 5 houses are connected to your tank, the tank will be much larger than if it only served one or two homes.

The charges are standardised to apply to all areas of Scotland according to the type of service you require. There are three levels of service available to septic tank owners in Scotland.

1. Scheduled Service

To make your life easier, you can arrange for de-sludging your septic tank at agreed intervals. This allows us to properly schedule work and keep our costs – and your charges - down.

The type of scheduled service required is dependent on certain conditions that can affect your final septic tank de-sludging charge.

Criteria includes:

• weight and manageability of the lid of the tank
• location of tank
• vehicle access and parking facilities

Please note this is not an exhaustive list and other factors may apply.

2. Unscheduled Service

Aside from Scheduled services (above) we do take unsheduled requests and will arrange to de-sludge your tank usually with 7 days of you calling us (provided we can get access to it). This service is more expensive to provide than the scheduled service, so the charges are higher.

3. Urgent Response Service

If your septic tank requires de-sludged urgently, we will attend within 48 hours where possible. This emergency service is the most expensive for us to provide and this is reflected in the charge.
